A point of view of Tokyo

I found a very interesting article on CNN.

After the accident in 2011, the number of tourists increase in Tokyo. The Japan Tourism office reports said visitors increased 21% between January and August 2013 compared with the last year. The reason of the number may attributed to Tokyo's successful for 2020 Olympics and prime minister Shinzo Abe's accomplishment. Moreover CNN wrote about 11 things to know before you go to Tokyo like "don't tip", " the word about welcome" , and "about clear umbrella".

I am also really happy that many foreigners visit to Tokyo now. I am very curious about the topic of 11 things before you go to Tokyo. I am Japanese but the list of 11 things are very fresh for me to know. For example, "don't tip" it is very rare that we do not have to pay tip for a restaurent or at a hair salon compared with other countries. In my opinion, it is not only the way of gratitude to pay tip to somebody. and then, I suprised that the word " walk right". I have never cared about it before. the article said when people walk on the street, they follow the unspoken rule that staying to the left side. We japanese do not mind about that things but we do very smothly.
Finally I think that the list of things are written is very normal situation for Japanese people but foreign people feel very unusual. If many people come to Tokyo in 2020, we can tell about Japanese rule more.

I have two question for you.

1 have you ever thought about these things before?
2 When you went to foreign countries, did you notice some differences between the country and Japan? or do you know about the things that only we Japanese do.

92 people died in Sahara desert

I found this article on CNN.

According to the article, 92 bodies have founded in Niger, and almost all of them were women or children. They tried to escape from Niger to Algeria to get better life. However, the vehicle that they rode on broke down in Sahara desert, and they might be died of thirst.

I was really shocked and surprised to hear the number of died bodies. I wondered why there were so many bodies in Sahara desert. Actually, most of died people were women and children, and they left their country with a hope to get better life. However, unfortunately, they died rather than got a better life. I thought if the track were not the vehicle that used to escape from the country but official one, they would be rescued because governments would notice something wrong with the track. I hope their family can spend life without them, and I realized the dangerous of Sahara desert.
★ If you were in Sahara desert with no foods or water, what would you do to survive
★ If you were left in the island alone, what could you bring by three items.

izumi, satomi auduo reflection

Media English 7 Izumi, Satomi Angela sun Reflection These days, the world has become global more and more, and it is easy to communicate with many people who bought up in different back ground. Also, the technology, especially cell phones are really common in the world. Therefore, We made an audio advertisement of an application named bond which people can use on the phone and this application enable people to talk with anybody even they live in different countries each other. In addition, the reason we gave bond as the name of this application was that bond means connect with something, so we named bond for this application. To explain more advantages of this application, people can have a group talking by 4 people. We record four different languages such as Japanese, English, Korean, and Spanish in the audio to make people imagine that they can speak with anybody easily. Actually, interestingly, in this advertisement, they have a complete conversation in different languages. Also, we thought using only voices is not interesting and less attractive so, we put pop song: I gotta feeling as back ground music to attract people. Also, our target audience is every body in the world, so we made an advertisement which four people who are live in different countries each other talk on the phone.

Reflection - Audio Making - Yukihiro

We composed a song along with the melody ‘I Want It That Way’ from Backstreet Boys. It was decided that we would sing about studying, and the lyrics were about dissatisfaction to the fact that we had to study many kinds of subjects that were not extremely required for a person. University students do not have to study ones irrelevant of their future, but those in junior high and high schools do. These are the main ideas of the song. Furthermore, it would be possible to understand the lyrics without the melody because we wrote a poem for it first. Usually, we listen to music as ‘music’, not poem, and we do not write a song. Through this activity, we realized that all songs consisted of lyrics and a melody although we do not think of it in daily life. About our song, Tired of studying, we changed nothing but the lyrics. We managed to make it suit the melody well, and made a possible good song. However, it could annoy listeners who love learning many things because we are complaining about studying in the song. As making the song, we found difficult the ways that singers insisted on something in a song for the audience because it is impossible to get listeners to think that our opinions in the melody are completely acceptable.

Tokyo Disney Resort 30th anniversary

Nayuki and Shiori made this message. This audio message was made to attract the audience, make their interests to visit and enjoy the Tokyo Disney Resort. The target audience is all the people beyond the ages or gender. People can notice it by the jolly and catchy music, tempting way to talk and a word “everyone” in the script. The company of Tokyo Disney Resort benefits by this message. As responses, people can have interests in Tokyo Disney Resort and visit the area.
As techniques, we used repetition and hyperbole. We said “Tokyo Disney Resort” three times and same form of the sentences because we want the audience to impress the name of the area and imagine the pictures on their memories. Also, by using a lot of adjectives, we made it more attractive for them. That is because people can imagine the state and impression easily if the depictions were overstated.
If we heard this message as an audience, we feel that we want to go there because we will be impressed by a lot of attractive words. To catch audience’s interests we used many adjective words like excellent, wonderful and magnificent in this audio advertisement. Therefore, we can guess if we visit there we can spend splendid time.
This song is an official song to celebrate 30th anniversary of Tokyo Disney Resort and the title is “Happiness is here.”

KUIS Zoo (Sound Project)

This is an advertisement of KUIS Zoo which will open this autumn. We decided to make this sound advertisement because we can use various kinds of sounds such as sounds of animals and people in it, and we can entertain listeners by them. The target audience is specifically children and families with children. Almost all children in the world love to go to zoo and see animals which they cannot see in their real lives. We suppose some of them or the people who already became parents wish to see some unique animals like extinct species, not only normal animals, in a zoo if it is possible. We also think if there was such a zoo, how great it is so we create a zoo which has even dinosaurs. Besides dinosaurs we introduced elephants in our advertisement because listeners easily identify where it is when they heard the elephants’ sound. In order to get an attention from children and their parents through the ears we used mainly sounds techniques: conversation style and the sound of many animals. We figured out a good way to tell the audience what this advertisement is and make them fun with the way of describing a tour of the zoo by the conversation of two tour guides with the cheerful background music which includes many kinds of animal’s voices. These persuasive techniques are very effective to tell the listeners how to enjoy the zoo, get their attention and invite them to the KUIS Zoo.

HOPE ~Haruya Remix~ (sound project)

Our song’s name is “HOPE”. The theme of this song is hope, dream and peace, so we named it “HOPE”. We made this song because we wanted to encourage people all over the world. And we used famous “When You Wish Upon a Star” as representative music of Disney. The target audience is people in an all generation and it is useful for people who are discouraged something to cheer up them. However, some people who are strict about rhythm may not like this song. The technics that we used are repetition and warm & fuzzy. Repetition can allow people to remember easily. And we used Haruya’s voice for warm & fuzzy because his voice can make people happy and laugh. Haruya could not sing at first, but finally he sang quite well, so we thought his voice matches our lyrics. This song’s hidden message is “if you have a hope, your dream would come true”. We can receive this message from lyrics. The song consists of many word related to hope, dream and peace, and the last line is “dream come true”. That is a strong message of this song.
We think this song can be a cheering song for everyone. (202words)

Tired of studying reflection (sound project)

We retrieved from “I Want It That Way” of Backstreet boys and composed ‘Tired of Studying’. The reason why we chose this song is because the melody matches what we want. In short, slow tempo let us feel a sense of pain. This is one of the effect of music. The target audience is people who have complaints about studying. In this song, we sang we do not have to learn irrelevant subjects such as math and economics. They could have nothing special to do with our life. However, teachers could criticize our song because it might harm them. On the contrary, students who hate studying will agree with our song, and they can realize our messages that studying is meaningless in our daily life. In addition, our song say that many parents and teachers say “study hard, study more!”, but it does not matter. Except for studying, we have something to do. This is a hidden message in our song.

Through this project, we can understand an importance of music like jingles or songs, and realize that music has messages and can affect our feeling. Suddenly, we thought that musicians might be able to change the world through their music, because music can link our feelings and the others’ feelings. (211words)

greeting is important

We are going to explain about our sounds.
We made this advertisement which tells the listeners how important greetings are. First, we added our conversations with using greetings. Then, we tell the listeners how greetings influence our lives positively. Finally, we suggest that everyone should greet someone next to them in order to make their lives more comfortable.
We used the song “Paint by Numbers” as background music from Youtube, because we wanted to express the comfortable feeling of greetings, and this music makes us cheerful, so we chose this music. The target audience is everyone who wants to make their lives better. The benefit of this commercial is to inspire the listeners to greet someone. This advertisement says, ‘The day cannot start without greetings, greetings make your life shining.’ This message encourages the listeners to start with nice greetings. By doing so, people could have a nice day.
The harmful effects of this advertisement is that the effects depend on people’s personalities. It means that it is a hard thing for people who are not good at talking to someone to greet someone actively. Therefore, when they listen to this message, they might feel uncomfortable.
What we want to tell the listener the most is greeting someone is very pivotal things for our lives.
