"Baby Hope"

Today, I read this article on CNN.

21 years ago, the little girl who was known “Baby Hope” was murdered but no one came forward as a family or relative, and then last Saturday, New York police published that the identity of “Baby Hope” was turned out and also they found her mother out by DNA testing.

According to the article, the little girl’s decomposed body was found in an ice chest by the side of a New York roadway in 1991, but nobody came forward as a relative at that time, so the nameless girl was named “Baby Hope” by New York Police Detectives. Then, 21 years later, the police announced that her mother and true name “Angelica” finally turned out. Moreover, the police arrested a man who is Angelica’s cousin and killed her. When I read this article, I felt sadness because Angelica was only four years old but she received cruel treatment and passed away. Also I wonder why did not her parents or other relatives stop the abuse and come forward.

Now, I want to ask you that 1) how do you feel about child abuse, and 2) what do you think why no one said he or she is a parent or a relative or Angelica?
